I have to say that your comment was out in left field. It’s narrow-minded people like you that frustrate me the most. Anyone that implies that the Bible encourages prejudice and bigotry is a nincompoop.
The truth is hidden from all of us, and will only reveal itself to us as we become ready to receive it. If you have no faith, then you will never understand any of it, because it all sounds like gobbledygook. When someone understands that faith is the key that unlocks the wisdom that the Bible offers, they can get volumes out of one paragraph, and someone that believes that their own intellect is all they’ll ever need to understand what the Bible is really telling us, they get nothing out of it at all.
In a way it’s a catch 22, because if you think that your intellect is enough, then you’re putting yourself above the word, but you don’t even know that’s a violation of the faith, because you can’t understand the real meaning, because you don’t have the faith, and you can’t get the faith, because you believe that your intellect is enough. I hope this clears things up for you.
